For a little while, our social media channels went quieter than usual.
Not because the work stopped.
Not because the need disappeared.
And certainly not because our volunteers stopped showing up.
The reality is simple: sometimes the work happening in our communities needs our attention more than our phones do.
Over recent weeks, our team has been focused on delivering practical support to people facing hardship across Greater Manchester. From food hampers and crisis essentials, to community outreach and one-to-one support, our priority has remained exactly where it should be .. with the people who need us.
As a grassroots organisation, much of what we do happens behind the scenes. It is the early morning phone calls, the volunteer check-ins, the partnership conversations, the deliveries, the safeguarding concerns, and the small acts of support that rarely make it onto social media but make a genuine difference to someone’s day.
Social media helps us tell our story, but it is never the story itself.
Every food parcel delivered, every crisis pack distributed, every conversation held with someone struggling, and every community connection made is part of the impact that supporters, volunteers and partners help us create.
That is why staying visible matters.
When people engage with our content, share our posts, or tell others about our work, they help us reach more people, attract new supporters, and secure opportunities that allow us to continue delivering frontline support.
Community support doesn’t begin and end with donations. Awareness matters too.
To everyone who has continued to follow, support and champion Homeless House CIC – thank you.
The work never stopped.
And with your support, neither will we.
